Anytime Fitness, the world’s largest 24-hour co-ed fitness franchise, wanted the team at Paul David Productions to turn one of their workout clubs into a comedy club. The concept behind this commercial with nationally recognized comedian Louie Anderson was to give the initial impression that he was doing a performance in a comedy club. But, when there’s no laughter at his jokes, we pull to a wideshot to reveal that everyone is wearing headphones and not paying Louie any attention. It took a small army to pull it off – set designer and builder, director, producer, makeup, audio, lighting truck, grip, two photographers – shooting on Panasonic SDX-900 DVCPRO 50 24p switchable cameras. Paul David Productions also has high definition capabilities with a Sony PDW-700 XDCAM HD and Panasonic Varicam. All cameras are equipped with Fujinon HD lenses.

Anytime Fitness was also interested in bringing their mascot “Running Man” to life for the commercial. So the animation team at Paul David Productions put some zip in Running Man’s step to help draw attention to the contact information page at the end of the commercial.
